Taking a quick spin around the science of it all, Resin is a category of semi-solid natural or synthetically sourced substances (think how naturally sourced tree resin converts into stunning amber) which can be converted into a highly durable material. The ability to easily mould this liquid into a sturdy, solid structure allows for endless creativity and the production of unique shapes and designs. It’s ability to be dyed makes it a designer’s dream where they can explore a kaleidoscope of colour without limitation.
The versatility of the production process of resin means the finished product can run the gamut from opaque to transparent finish, a solid hue or a uniquely marbled multi-coloured effect; it’s all dependent on the mix of chemicals, colours and the pouring of the liquid.
