How to nail your style
Your home should be a sanctuary from the outside world and a space that truly reflects your personal style.
Interior inspo trends are everywhere but the hard part is working out what will work for you and your space .
Here are some steps to help you create a space that feels like you:
Before you even begin your mood board stop and identify your style. Are you drawn to modern minimalism, do you love an eclectic mix, are you passionate about colour?
A great way to help you get your eye in is to open your wardrobe, look at what colours/tones you enjoy wearing, do you love patterns or a little bit of sparkle, are you drawn to gold or silver in your jewellery?
Select a colour palette that reflects your personality. Consider if you like warm or cool tones. Colour evokes feelings so build on your favourite colours and then research one complimentary and one contrasting colour.
Consider incorporating various textures and materials to add depth and visual interest to your space.
Curate what you have now and what you love. There's no need to start from scratch, the best spaces evolve naturally. Incorporating personal items adds a sense of authenticity to your space.
Avoid matchy matchy at all costs. If you have an incredible vintage chest use it as a bedside and then look for something that contrasts for the other side. Never buy multiples of the same cushions - as long as the colours and tones work together they will work in your space.
Choose furniture that not only suits your style but also provides comfort and functionality. Arrange your furniture in a way that promotes easy movement and conversation flow.
Incorporate versatile pieces like stools and accent tables that have character and uniqueness and can be moved from room to room.
And finally, adapt over time. Your style and preferences will evolve, so be open to making changes as needed.
Just as you would with your wardrobe, do a regular edit, keep the foundations that you love and look for pieces that will give new life to your staples.
Finally, making your home feel like you is a gradual process. Take your time to find pieces that truly resonate with your identity and style. Your home should be a place where you can relax, be yourself, and find inspiration.
