A Summer Romance may still be a ways away, but newsflash – a Spring Fling is in and within reach with a click of a button.
The days are slowly getting longer, the weather’s getting warmer, spirits are brighter, and the call of the outdoors is getting louder. We’re setting ourselves up for a spring fling in true cottage core style with a kitchenware update that’s full of feel-good vibes.
With winter well on its way out, we’re looking ahead with the help of ceramicware that’s getting us in our al fresco dining era. Pending where you are, the outdoor heater or cosy blankets may still be in play but there’s no reason to let that dampen your day!
If 2023 had us all thinking pink and channelling our inner Barbie, then 2024 has us seeing green thanks to Charlie’s Brat girl vibes – and with spring being the season of rebirth, regrowth and sprouting anew, it’s only fitting that this refreshing shade is stealing the show across fashion, pop culture and homewares.
Lean into the green of it all with a green-themed garden inspired spread celebrating the vibrant flavour of a new season. Here’s some inspiration for your tastebuds that will sing like spring atop our fresh, newly landed kitchenware collection:
Make Friends with Salad:
The dressing we’re slathering on everything from our salad bowls or over our eggs benny; we’re talking Green Goddess Dressing of course. This herb-forward dressing is equal parts fresh and creamy, with a base of mayonnaise and Greek yoghurt that’s brightened with the addition of parsley, basil, tarragon, chives and lemon juice. Good for your gut and great for your palate!
Sip into Spring:
Our DOTD – we’ve succumbed to the matcha craze; whether you like yours steaming hot or super-iced, OG flavoured or spiked with strawberry. Need help finding some of the best matcha’s in Sydney? Our team picks can be found in our previous blog post.
P is for Pistachio:
This tiny green-hued nut (technically a drupe, but now we’re just flexing our google findings) has gone viral (and yes, we will always have a soft spot for the humble almond) but this spring why not embrace a new flavour profile with the mildly sweet, nutty and earthy pistachio? Blend to create delicious pistachio butter, toast them up as a topper for salads or avocado toast, add to white chocolate chip cookies or re-create the viral Dubai pistachio chocolate bar! Short on time and need something store bought? Grab one of these delectable options while they’re available and trending hot (Sydney based – don’t @ us!)
- Yin Viennoiserie’s Pistachio Tart with House-Made Pistachio Paste
- Igniss Bake & Roast’s take on a croissant snail, loaded with pistachio paste and pistachio crumbs
- Tuga Pastrie’s Pistachio Praline version of their ooey gooey Pain Suisse
- Delisia’s range of jam-packed savoury focaccia’s featuring several options with pistachio pesto
- Salumerie’s sweet or savoury options (we suggest both) including a mortadella sandwich with pistachio pesto and pistachio crumbs or their pistachio glazed doughnut.
- Salumerie’s northside competitor, Tommy Panini’s mortadella panino stuffed full with pesto, ricotta, basil and pistachio praline (and we’ve got the G&T team’s tasting Tiktok to vouch for this one!)
- Lastly, run, don’t walk! AP Bread’s continually sold-out Salted Pistachio & Rhubarb Flan is one for the baking history books.
Gather your friends, take to the garden and dig into an enticing, emerald-hued spread that will have uninvited guests green with envy as you sprint into spring.
